Jigme Khyentse (1963 - )

Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche is the third son of Kyabje Kangyur Rinpoche (1897-1975) recognized by Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, and by H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa as a reincarnation of Khatog Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Rinpoche (1893-1959), who was one of the greatest Tibetan Masters of last century and the Guru of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche spent his childhood in Darjeeling, India. He completed his traditionnal Buddhist studies first with his father and later passed much of his time in India, Nepal and Bhutan with Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche and with several other great masters of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

Rinpoche speaks, apart from Tibetan, fluently English and French and teaches regulary in Europe, USA, Canada and in Australia. He lives in Dordogne, France, where he leads retreats and seminars with his two older brothers Tulku Pema Wangyal and Rangdröl Rinpoche at the "Chanteloube Centre of Studies", the retreat center founded by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche in the western hemisphere.

Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche supervises the work of the Padmakara Translation Group, which translated - amongst other works - Food of Bodhisattvas by Shabkar.
Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche is strict vegetarian.
